|As if anyone needed a reason to ride in California, riding around this weekend, there were poppies and wildflowers everywhere. Anyone planning a riding vacation here should definitely try to be here in April. It's an amazing time of year. There were so many poppy fields I started trying to find the Emerald City. By the way, it's impossible to click your heels together when you are on a bike.
We've got to find Dorothy!

|Where on earth did you see a decent wildflower display this year? At least here in the Ventura/L.A. county area, the hills are already parched because of the lack of rain this winter. The only poppies I've seen so far have been in peoples' gardens...|

|San Francisco Bay area has lots of poppies. I saw fields of them in the hills above Gilroy. They are starting to come in along Skyline in the Santa Cruz Mountains. I see little spots of them everywhere else.
The California poppy is the coolest looking flower ever.
