Last night my wife & I went to a local theatre that seats about 1000 people & were entertained for over 3 hours by first Janis Ian & then Richie Havens, They finished up with an encore Duet that blew the doors off the building.

I'm probably showing my age, but it was incredible. Janis Ian at 50 yrs old, in addition to being and incredible Poet & singer has become a wonderful guitar player. She was obviously relaxed, enjoying herself & "comfortable in her own skin". I for one would have been satisfied to listen to her all night.

Richie Havens was awesome. So real, & such a great voice & great arrangements. Again, I could have listened to him all night.

Both of them hung around after the concert & just shot the breeze with anyone who wanted to. Just normal people, enjoying thier lives. Both of them in different ways, expressed gratitude for the musical gifts they have, and genuinly seemed appreciative of thier effect on the audience.

I came away energized.

Good show and as you said she seemed comfortable and played the guitar really well. The thing that really amused me was her outfit. It was pretty wild, is regular clothes she sure would look like a grandmother.
