| Weird family names. | Sintesi Feb 21, 2002 11:14 AM | | Does anyone have relatives w/ goofey names? My family is from the south and omg! Here let me get the ball rolling.
Mom - Guyla Rosalee
Dad - Jimmy Dean
Grandpa - Coy
Grandma (my favorite)- Bobbie Pearl
Grandma - Beaulah Rosalee

I have a cousin nicknamed Dooger. (hard g)
kind of embarrassing. Yes we have more than three teeth between us and no we are not inbred. Actually there are a couple doctors in the family -Vernon and Carl. Can you top this? Or am I alone with this burden? |
| Nothing too odd, but ... | McAndrus Feb 21, 2002 11:26 AM | | I have one cousin named Star Twinkle. She's a babe, too. |
| Not WAY weird, but unusual | Retro Feb 21, 2002 11:38 AM | | We got the best of the Old South (mom from there, born 1921) and whatever was going on in my dad's family in California: Names include Myrtice, Marvarene, Trudalee, Hazel, Sophie (I sort of like that one) and three men named Francis Coral, of which I'm III. |
| re: Weird family names | Tig Feb 21, 2002 11:52 AM | | My two grandmother's names were Tot and Zena Louise. They were country girls as you can imagine. My aunt’s names were Lydie May and Lavern. My once-hippie aunt named my 1st cousin "Daisy".
There was once a very rich family in Houston with the last name of Hogg. The sick part was that they named their girls, Ima and Ura. Ima Hogg didn't let her name hold her back from providing generous endowments to the community. |
| re: Weird family names. | Spinchick Feb 21, 2002 11:59 AM | | My great grandmother's name was Bertha - they called her Bert. Hubby is also from the south and had a great granmother named Itys. Also a distant cousin named Kernel -spelled that way too. |

| "Weird?" | The Walrus Feb 22, 2002 11:19 AM | | I dunno--if names like "Hazel", "Olive" or "Sophie" (or even "Daisy") seem strange to you, then you really need to get out more... |
