Pardon me for being giddy...Spinchick

but I just got the results of my amniocentesis. Everything looks 100% healthy and the Spinkid is having a baby sister! After losing a pregnancy at 18 weeks to a neural tube defect two years ago, I've been a little nervous this time around.

Anyway, just wanted to share! Another future spingirl!

It's nice to have good results, huh? Same here. Everything A-OK. Definitely a boy.

When are you due?

all 3 ultrasounds have measured over a week older. We'll see - my daughter was almost 9 pounds at birth so this one would be following in her footsteps.

Glad to hear things are good with you too.

Congratulations! Good news is something we should all appreciate!

However, I must warn you that these darling daughters turn into teenage girls and they are the MOST befuddling creatures I have ever run across. I have had female friends tell me they are weird! I just thought it was the standard male/female thing. It's all good until the ages of 11 -12. Once "Aunt Flow" and the boobs show up, watch out!!!!!

Being a father/stepfather of two of them, I can speak from experience.

BTW, tongue is firmly in cheek!

As a father of a 9 1/2 yr old and 7 yr old daughters (plus a great 3 yr old son), I truly fear the teen years. They don't make sense now, so what is it going to be like in five years? I think I'll hide in the basement.

Funny, I don't really fear my girls, I fear for them, but I do really fear teenage boys. I'm young enough to remember that during my entire teen years into my twenties, I used the brain (?) in my small head more than the one in my big head. I don't think boys today know when to accept NO - now that's scary as a parent!
Go ahead and be giddy!Tig

Feb 6, 2002 1:36 PM wife had a amniocenteisis (glad you spelled it)and we found out it was going to be a baby girl. It was great as it was the first girl on the my side of the family for five generations. Of course now the baby girl is fifteen years old and sometimes I feel like dealing with her is compared to running full steam into a concrete wall.
But she soon will be sixteen and dating, then what can I expect? Please don't tell me, I don't want to know....
Great news! ...NMACE-
