Does anyone have experience with this unit or similar. Thinking about getting one.

I have a 36 FD XBR that I run Direct TV through a Sony Direct TV Tivo into the S-video. Great picture and no problems in a year.

I have no experience with that model, but I have a 36 inch Sony and it is beautiful. The Wega will be even more so.

The only thing I'll say is make sure you have a permanent spot for it all ready. Tubes of that size can weigh close to 200 lbs., so you won't be moving it around a lot!

I looked long and hard at those but went with a flat-screen HDTV compatible theatre-wide Toshiba. I got really paranoid that I'd get an outrageously pricey TV that wouldn't be well-suited to the next 10 years of techonological advances, and the Toshiba offered more, and with Consumer Reports kudos. It was, unfortunately, about $1000 more than the Sony.
I really wanted one but I'm going to wait.Leisure

HDTV will be the standard in a couple of years and by then the prices will be comparable to the current WEGAs. But boy waiting hurts sometimes.

I agree, HDTV is most likely the smart move. But it sure hurts to wait!
