I had the pleasure of seeing this comic genius last Thursday, he is the funniest person I've ever heard. Some of you may be familiar with his work, he often contributes to "This American Life" on NPR. He appeared courtesy of the local NPR station, WGLT. On the net at
If you have never heard him I highly recommend his books, the latest is "Me Talk Pretty One Day". I got three books signed by him, one will be a christmas gift for my father. Any other fans out there?

Although he appears live in LA on a fairly regular basis, I've never been to see him. "Santaland Diaries" is one of the funniest pieces ever done. I haven't read Me Talk yet, but Barrel Fever was a good collection of short pieces.

Sedaris is hilarious. I've read most of his books, but almost everything in the little "Santaland Diaries" book is laugh out loud, wet your pants funny.

Just finished "Barrel Fever". Read "Me talk pretty" just before that. Moving on to "Naked" now.

Good stuff no doubt. "Me talk..." was easily the most I've ever laughed while reading a novel. Do not read it in public, people stare. ( :

David Sedaris is scheduled to be on Letterman Thursday (Thanksgiving) night. Something to stay up for :-)

Do any of you David Sedaris fans have any information about his sister Amy? She was the main character on Stranger with Candy, which was on Comedy Central for 2 or 3 seasons. The show was pretty offbeat and her character was really bizarre. Although I never really got hooked on the show, I thought she was terrific in the role. Do you know of anything else she has done?

P.S. Good news on the Letterman appearance, if only I can manage to stay up that late.
