|I'm getting a frame elsewhere and want to have a localish bike shop provide the components and build the bike up so that I can get proper adjustments to fit as needed. Anyone can recommend a good AND very reasonably-priced shop?

|My favorite for great deals is supergo:
Supergo Santa Monica (and other locations)
5th and Broadway
TAX-FREE this weekend!
Helen's Cycles is also a cool cycle shop
Santa Monica, Broadway

|If you don't want to go to Helen's, then I would recommend Circle Cycle in north Torrance (www.circlecycle.com), King's in San Pedro (http://kingsbicyclestore.com/), or Triathlete Zombies in Santa Monica or Manhattan Beach (http://www.triathletezombies.com/). My fave is Circle, as I know the mechanics and see them out on rides all the time.|

|Steve is very nice, does wheel truing for me for free although I didn't buy a bike from there... he's one of the few persons I know in this world who are not at all after money. |
I built a bike at his place, he helped for headset and bottom bracket install, and when I wanted to give some money he refused.
Colorado Blvd/Sierra Madre blvd in Pasadena. He is close to Velo Pasadena which is said to have one of the best choices of bikes in the LA area (plenty of colnagos for those who have $$).
