Good service from Parker. All the UK companies use Parcel Force to ship the goods. Parcel Force uses the USPS in the US. The customs process is really easy. The mailman comes to your door and collects the duty. With my experience, you have a 50/50 chance of the post office actually trying to collect the duty. I've ordered frames from overseas and the USPS almost always collects duty. On smaller items, they don't always collect

i'm a little confused, then, because i called customs here in new mexico and they said i'd have to come pick the stuff up. the only office is about 1 hour away, so naturally i was shying away from that. but you're saying you didn't have to do that? let me know.

No you don't have to go to Customs. The post office will deliver it to your door and collect duty. Verify with Parker-Intl that they'll be shipping with Parcel Force. If they do, It will come to you via the USPS right to your door.

I'm not sure how the whole customs portion works out but I bought a Rudy Project helmet from them last year and it was great! Sweet helmet, good service, excellent prices, and quick shipping. I recommend them to just about anyone that asks me...

when you ordered from them, did it come to you or did you have to go pick it up from the customs location?

The helmet came in the mail. No customs or duties fees had to be paid. Maybe it was because it was a small package and nothing like a frame? Just a guess...

This is from another UK company(Saddlesore.net). The customs rules are the same from whoever in the UK you buy from.

Customs Information

The customer is the importer ! Please check your local customs information to ascertain whatever duty you may incur by importing cycling goods. Fortunately most countries are fairly relaxed in terms of the levies they impose for cycling goods.

For instance; US customers can import $200 worth of cycling goods before import duties are incurred at rates of between of 0% and 8%.

Groupset items are not subject to duty and there is no duty for importing a groupset.

Wheels are subject to duty, 5% for rims and 10% for spokes. This would typically add $15 to a pair of $500 wheels, in addition to this Customs may charge you $5 and your postal service may charge you $3.75.

You will not pay customs duty on pedals or saddles unless your total order is over $200.
i need to know if i have to pick it up or notnyedid

I understand about duty rates, i just need to know whether or not i'd have to drive to the customs office to pick it up, or whether the items would come to me. the previous posts in this thread suggest that it could very well come to me, but i don't know, and i need to know before i order something, because an hours drive each way to pick up parts is somewhat significant for me. so i need to know what happens with delivery.

I live in Canada and just received an order. Picked a saddle, pair of LOOK pedals and a pair of Vredestein tri comp tires. The package was shipped "TO MY DOOR" in one week.

After several orders I've had no problems. No customs on most purchases--the stuff just comes to the door.

I just ordered some Rubino Pro tires from them. Saw their incredible prices and took a shot. I just emailed them my order and they shot me back a confirmation and 8 days later, the tires came to my door. Including shipping from the UK, the tires were about $16 each! I'm sold. Check out their price on Ksyriums!
