Just curious, is it my imagination, or do I get constantly blown off every time I try to do business at Spokes Bike Shop in Wheaton, IL. I might get five minutes of their time, and then they are off somewhere else. Has anyone else who has frequented this establishment found the service to be this bad?

I'll second that.

I never got the full story, but part of why there are two rides leaving from that parking lot in the summer. The store ride for those who blew the dough, and the regular ride for those who want to ride.

It's just a high volume store.

I like Bicycle Specialties, but I'm out of the area now.

i disagree all riders are welcome with this group and no one is left behind some of those riders leaving the parking lot have created or been a part of road rage giving the store a bad name and were asked to leave or use the store without supporting it, if you are in business do you really want to be used but not supported?.

I think I aired all of views of Spokes on the other board but allow me to say one thing,

Spokes gives Spokes a bad name.

i have always had very good response to any questions or interest in components and anything else bike related at spokes, everyone there has always been very attentive and helpful. sometimes the store does get busy and you might be put on hold but given time they will always give very good one on one input. i find them generous with information and i have seen them go above and beyond to help a customer when several other bike shops told the customer that a part could not be found and he would have to replace the whole brake system

Safety is always the number one concern on all Spokes rides. Riders who choose to repeatedly disregard the rules of the road are asked not to participate in the group rides. Accidents happen very quickly and I appreciate this concern for safety. You will not find a more considerate and skilled group of riders.

They must must have pissed you off good. OK, so they suck (or so the majority says), don't go there anymore. Get over it.

After reading your message so many times, it occurs to me that YOU must have done something as a customer to ____ them off. Spokes is one of the most successful bike shops in Chicago and, in fact, in the country. That's because they provide expert advice, top notch repairs, competitive pricing, honesty, great product, and they stand behind what they sell. People keep coming back, and that doesn't happen unless customers are treated well. This is the only bike shop I know where the owner will take a beginning rider and work with him to become a skilled biker. I have seen Raouf Radi, the owner, actually push tired riders, both men and women, so that they can keep up with the group. You never get dropped from a Spokes ride. So many people will tell you how this has changed their lives in such a positive way. So we're all bored with your issue, or lack of one. Judging from your temperament, I wouldn't want to be on your wheel or have you on mine.
