Primal Wear Enters Bike Market
DENVER, CO (BRAIN)—Primal Wear is taking a decidedly different turn for 2002. The company is offering limited edition bikes to complement its zany attire.

Because its jerseys and shorts are so recognizable, Primal is introducing a complementary line of bikes. The limited edition line will consist of one road and one mountain bike for now.

The Heat Stroke road bike has an aluminum frame and a carbon fiber fork. The package is rounded out with a Shimano Ultegra kit and Velomax wheels. With heatstroke decals, the bike retails for an incredibly low $1295. The hardtail mountain bike, the 2nd Plague, has a 100-millimeter travel RockShox Judy fork, Truvativ cranks, LX derailleurs and a price of $695.

Primal is working with Bikesdirect.com to offer the complete bikes. They will sell through retailers and online. Only 600 bikes will be made.

It looks like you could part this bike out, sell it's components for more than you paid for the complete bike, and have a frame left over!

An Ultegra-based build kit with Open Pro wheels is about $950, add $100 for velomax, for $1050 total. You're still paying $200 for the frame/fork. That's probably what it's worth.

If you like those hideous Primal jerseys, you'll love these!
re: thinly ? how about that Supergo ad? and the fashion report?rabbit

it is funny how everyone thinks they are a detective or a fashion reporter -- are those supergo comments ads or real?
what about those fashion comments - I guess if I have the wrong color jersey I should feel bad when I ride -- how about some honest reveiw or comment -- here's one or two: The KHS is a great deal - The primal bike looks hot and is a better deal than a Trek or Specialized at $1700 -- and either way I prefer my 853 Mercier that is full Ultegra that I gave $1250 for -- since I think Aluminum rides too harsh - but at least I know that is an opinion
