I am confident in my ability to know the product I want, espescially compared to my LBS. If it isn't in the cannondale or giant catalog, then I better find it myself. So if I have to find it myself, then why should I be expected to pay keystone pricing for doing the LBS job. I would rather buy something used from the marketplace then feed the runaway train of the bike industry. Come on now...$700 for the new Campy cranks?? This is a bike people. It wont take your family to school, so why should a crank cost more than the transmission in your car? I must just be a poor person who actually rides his bike instead of some ritch dude who has the coolest ride in town for his ten mile jaunts a few times a week. Example, I posted a picture of my Giant TCR on the picture page, and the comments I got were about the dirty yellow tape on the bars. That is what happens when you ride it! If you have clean yellow tape I might suggest riding it once and a while...even if it is ...gasp...raining! Sorry, my soapbox is collapsing, so I had better end this.

local bike shops are great for trying on clothes and shoes for size, checking out the new stuff up close, etc.
