Aug 28, 2001 5:46 AM | | A friend wants to sell me a 97 bianchi Campione D' Italia with Mirage group and Mavic Open Pro wheels. The Bike is in good condition. I am looking for something to supplement my mtn bike riding. Really would like to get started into road riding and wondering if this bike @ 500 is a fair deal?

Aug 29, 2001 3:05 PM | | Fair, but not a steal. The biggest perk is that is a decent wheelset; my guess is that it was an upgrade from what was originally on the Campione. Do you have a sense what kind of wear he has put on the drive train? If you get into a bunch of replacements (even small ones, cables/cogs/brake pads) then it becomes not much of a deal at ALL. I'd say this bike is more enticing for about $50 less. |
