Where can I get cartidge bearings for my heliums? I need them. That third hand place has some, but they are closed. Please help me avoid dealing with Mavic.
How do you plan to avoid Mavic?TJeanloz

It's a proprietary bearing, I don't know of anybody who keeps them in stock except by accident (maybe the Third Hand does, but I'd bet that's a long shot). I think you're stuck going to your local Mavic dealer. At the end of this contest: Shop-built wheels 1; Factory-built wheels 0.

Find out what type or size bearings you need. If they are normal everyday metric cartridge bearings, look in your Yellow Pages or on the Net for a bearing supplier. The bearinf seal should have a number on it. Chances are, the bearing will be available from a bearing specialist, for 1/4 the price of a genuine. Plus, you should be able to get really really good ones.
