I cant tell ya for sure that this is a scam, but I got this email today and it sounds shady:

Dear Andrew,
i am happy to notify you that I am interested inbuying/acquiring your 2000 Pro Descender frame , i am offering $1,150 Please,if my offer is acceptable to you,get back to me with the necessary details and also how it will be picked up. I will be needing:

* your full name and home address together with
* your reconfirmed phone number (both home and mobile)
* fax number (if possible).

As a matter of fact, one of my clients based in U.S.A is owing me some money and the amount is $5,000 and on my request he shall forward an american casher check on that amount to you. After deducting the cost of your goods,then i will like to know if i can trust you to send the rest of the amount (i.e the excess fund) to me through money net transfer.information needed to send the casher check to you.thank you for your cooperation while anticipating If you are ok with this favour,you can get me the your earliest response

My son got one of those checks for $5000.00 and it is hanging on his refrigerator with "fraud" stamp on it by bank. He knew the check was bogus and strung the guy along for a while, giving him a phoney tracking number. Once the guy realized we were on to him, he dissappeared. The shipping address was a leased office space, but had been used. Just a address for picking up deliveries.
Anyone stupid enough to fall for this scam deserves to get taken. Who in their right mind would send you 2x the amount owed and think your a check cashing service for them !
