If you haven't done so, you might want to report this to the police. They may not be able to do much about it, but I work in check fraud for a large bank and always advise victims/potential victims of this type of fee advance fraud to report. This scam is getting more and more prevalent, and if enough reports tie together they might have enough to do something with it.

Also, there may very well be a "real" Jill Friedman who is an unfortunate victim of identity theft and may not even know it. Usually these frauds are multi-layered.
