Suggestions...Accused of fraud by irrate MTBRermojo_matic

I've bought and sold many parts and bikes on MTBR.com in the past (mostly over a year ago). Well, A guy by the name of Mike Dropkin wants to buy a brake off of me. He sends me the money via. Paypal, and he is very excited about the brake. I send it USPS Priority as promised. He tells me that he did not recieve the brake some time later, immediately accusing me of fraud. Suppoably he "suggested" insuring the brake...after the brake was already shipped. I had no worries. Meanwhile my National Guard unit gets activated. I tell this guy that things are crazy, but I will work things out. In reply, I recieve nasty replies with threats that he is going to sue me for the 75.00. I want to call this guy on the phone, but do not want to get into a pissing match as has occured over the net. I have talked to a friend who is a lawyer, and she has looked at our e-mails. I'm assured that there isn't anything to worry about. Anyway, here I sit with some irrate guy who is calling me a thief and a fraud, and at the same time telling me to rectify the situation of get sued? I really don't have time for this crap with military life, taking car of my distraught fiance and dropping out of college due to activation. But my stature with MTBR.com (used to go by "sphlaxter" and ebay "mojo_matic" is important to me. I was going to suggest that we can meet each other half way, and I'll send him half his money back (hey, I have no proof that he DIDN't recieve the brake). I do not care for being called a thief by this jerk, and is giving me no motivation to work in his behalf.

ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANX, Eric Larson

My suggestion would be to refund the 75 dollars and get delivery confirmation next time. If your reputation is worth more than 75 dollars, it'd be worth it to make the problem go away.

With that being said, if you shipped to Canada the delivery confirmation option is not available. I sold a stem to a guy in Canada, shipped via airmail, and delivery took over a month. I had sent the buyer a refund for the purchase price plus shipping before he received it. The buyer ended up contacting me and re-paying after delivery.

Just my 2 cents...
