I have just recently had an offer from a JAMES from CONTONU BENIN in W. Africa. The message was along that same lines as the other ones but the current e-mail address is raphlee4eva@yahoo.com. so be on the look out. don't sell them anything.

Yeah, I have a New GT road bike frame, asking $180 for it
and this dude offered me $500 plus shipping. I e-mailled the
dude back and told him to send me cash.
No more e-mail :)

I have some bike stuff for sale, but haven't received any African offers. I did, however, receive African offers on the Stand-up Bass that I am selling. Two different emails from two different people wanted to buy it with a cashier's check drawn from an American bank.
I might have taken the offers seriously had I not already read the many reviews on this website.

In my experience with trading and selling, I have come to find that for big sale items anyone who is willing to buy your product without first asking questions is most likely going to be dishonest in some respect. Only the honest buyer is wary about haphazardly spending their money. This isn't true in all instances, but is a good indicator of what to expect.
Hope this message helps someone in the future from getting ripped off.
