Finally, after 2 years of searching, I found the bike I had been looking for. I wrote Mr. McGregor and it seemed all good. I made 2 Money Order payments and then the bike was on its way. UPS ground dropped it at my complex. The box was not damaged. I put the bike together and I noticed the the steering was a little stiff. Took it to the local bike shop due to the fact that the neck was locked up so tight, they had to use a special tool to get the neck off. As I looked at the bike, you can see (if you know what you are looking for) the front Rock Shox are bent. I took it to 3 shops here in Houston and they all said the same thing -- "There is NO WAY this was damaged during shipping, especially if the box wasnt ripped to all hell". Not only that, the bike had been worked on after the wreck, which was why the neck was locked on. All 3 shops, all separate -- all not knowing a thing about the other, said the same exact thing! This bike is ruined, the front/bottom of the head tube is frayed from the wreck. I have a lot of bad words that I would like to use to describe this situation and Mr. McGregor -- but I want this post to stay. I am very upset, not about the money, but about the bike -- I still don't get my bike. There is deep sentimental value associated with this particular model frame. But hey, unethical people like Mr. McGregor don't think much about people other then themselves. And for what, a couple of hundred dollars, the funny thing is -- I would have paid double what I did for this bike. Karma is everything though and I will still eventually get my bike. Thanks anyway Mr. McGregor.
