Nothing worse than a movie star girlfriend to distract the mind (like I'd know). Also US P is not as strong a team as other years without Heras, as well as the prior year losses. But:

T-Mobile have one of the great line-ups, but maybe too many Chiefs? Vinokourov, Ulrich and Botero have all finished on the podium in Paris, Cadel gets a go, then Zabel and a couple of lead out men for him....a little crowded?

Beloki moved to Brioches la Boulangère, which is not nearly as strong as his old ONCE team. Mayo is emerging and maybe having one of the TT's up d'Huez helps his cause, his team mate Zubeldia is more consistent but not as good - not sure who will be team leader there.

This leaves one guy...Tyler! Good enough, will be hungry and is probably now in his prime.

Has anything ever distracted Lance from training? Last year people were questioning him for putting cycling before his family. Everyone was saying they didn't respect him because he was willing to spend so much time away from his family, in favor of training and racing. He didn't even let that distract him. They replaced Heras with Jose Azevedo, making this about the strongest team they've ever had.
How does a TT up d'Huez help anyone more than Lance? He's recorded the first or second fastest time up there. Tyler will be happy to finish the tour without breaking any bones.

LA is going to be criticized no matter what he does. If he spent more time with his family (perhaps the rumor as to his divorce) many would say he is "done" and no longer dedicated. The flip side he gets criticized for not caring about his family and too much for cycling putting all that before them. No win situation when you are a superstar like him.

If cycling and the training/racing is the reason for his divorce, then only he and then ex know that. If it is, perhaps he moved too quickly into a marriage and kids (because he wanted it all after almost dying from cancer).

He will likely hang up his racing cleats after this year but I think he will be involved with a US team.
