how do you measure incline as a decimal? 17km with 1.2km gain is about7.2% What decimal is that?

I failed math in Hi Skool and just don't get it (T.T)
use a calculator...C-40

1.2 divided by 17 equals .070.

It's just that I second guessed myself after seeing that going from my steel frame too a very light aluminium frame with a full carbon fork would save me only about 20 seconds over that 17km climb. 4 seconds over 4km at 8%. That can't be right, can it?
