Is the Pinarello Dogma Ego really $16k?KRider

I saw a listing on Competitive Cyclist that the Pinarello is $16 grand.

If that's true, that has to be the most expensive bike I've ever seen...

Anyone shed any light on this?

That's why they call it EGO!

A rather expensive paint job, no? And the Dogma is already overpriced. ;-)

"Ego" probably refers to Pinarello, Competitive Cyclist or both. Less complimentary terms might be used for purchasers.

I was reading about the Ego and it said that the "Ego" name came from the fact that since the paint is such a high mirror finish, the rider can actually see him/her self in it...much like Narcissus gazing into the water.

I wouldn't doubt it. 16k for a bike is ridiculous even to me and I usually like high-dollar items. I don't see how it could possibly be justified.

Sure not as much as the Ego, but still a spendy bike...and it weighed like 3 pounds in 56cm anyway!
