Was this the wrong response?T-Doc

I went to Memorial Park to get in some miles Tuesday evening and pull up next to a guy pulling a beautiful Merlin Cielo complete with finely engraved lugs and full Record gruppo out of a brand new Porsche Cayenne S...

My first response was to say, "You're not married, are you?"

To which he replied, "No, how did you guess?"

My envy did help me ride harder during my workout....
Your response was fine, but what's married got to do with it?Trogon

That could've been me, and my answer would've been "yes I am married, to the right woman."
Hey- if it was you, I am happy for you.T-Doc

It was my initial reaction that I thought was amusing...ie, it was me not you. Congrats on the vehicles and the wife. Ride safe.

That guy plays hardball with the toys.... Your response seemed very appropriate to me.....
Could he ride OK?Fez

I don't really care what equipment people have, but when I see someone on a really nice bike, I sometimes look to see how the rider's form is.
What was the question?DL Lawrence

Pardon me for commenting here, but my reaction when I read your post was- response to what? Did he ask you something? Or do you mean "comment", rather than "response"? I would agree also with the above poster-what does married have to do with it? There are lots of people out there who have more money for toys than I do. Married or not. I think for an unsolicited comment, maybe a "nice bike" or something might have been more appropriate. But that's just my opinion, and we all know about those.
Are you a guy ?PseuZQ

If so, then yeah, it's weird.

If not, it makes perfect sense.
