Peak Mountain Bike Pro Shop. Shop ReportBobKreyole

Friendly neighborhood bike shop, Peak Mountain Bike Pro Shop is at 42-42 235th St Douglaston, NY. Telephone 718-225-5119. Even though he specializes in high end Mountain Bikes, he also sells and services high end road bikes. He is a great mechanic. I have purchased 3 bikes in the last 2 years from him. The best thing about the shop are the customers who hangout there. They are always organizing rides and talking shop and trading bike stuff. New York City heart is its various neighborhoods. Peak Mountain Bike Shop is a vital part of our neighborhood.

Nice reportThe Walrus

Always good to hear about someone running a shop that people enjoy doing business with.

I see he's got some '01 Jake the Snake frames hanging there; any chance he's got an '00 (the black-and-white one, in a 55cm?)
Jake the Snake answer for WalrusBobKreyole

Peak Mountain bike shop is closed on Sunday & Monday. I will call Jerry Tuesday morning about the sizes ( He has 2 frames in stock) of the Jake the Snake.I will post a response as soon as I know the answer. Lots of those bike on Long Island since there are many Cyclecross races in the area. Last year I puchased a Dr. Dew (same frame different components) and love it.
Thanks for the response!The Walrus

If the two Jake frames you say he has in stock are the silver ('01) frames in the photo, no need to call the shop. I'm definitely interested only in the '00 (I
i know
I'm being unrealistic, but....)

By the way, what year is the Dew? I just missed getting an '02, with that great apple green paint job.

Thanks again...

Yes the apple green was one of the buying decision that made me buy the bike. I do not like the 2003 white eventhough, I would love to have the disk brakes.

Nice report. Very hard to find a shop with that kind of variety of mtb around here. Big hit down to the trusty hardtail. Don't worry about the yawn, there's plenty of bi-cyclers here.
