lateral play in ksyrium hubs(6 posts)

lateral play in ksyrium hubswhat headwind
Jan 20, 2004 9:44 PM
I just purchased some Ksyrium Elites. Both hubs have a small amount of lateral play in them. If I grasp the tire/rim and move it back and forth laterally, I can feel some movement. Since there is play in both the front and the rear, I'm wondering if this is normal?

Thanks

I just checked my SLs and I have no clue what movement you are talking about.
Not sure about the Elite's butboneman

on the normal Ksyrium's the bearings can be adjusted with a tool which comes with the wheels. I have a set of 2001 Ksyrium's and have to tighten up the rear bearing once or twice each year.
yes elites are the same wayaaroncvc

Yup. Tighten them when you start to notice a little brake rub when you sprint, maybe every 3000 mi or so. I have checked other hubs. Most have the same amount of play except Rolfs seem to be tighter
