Why do they have horizontal rear wheel drop outs?

they are fixed gear bikes, meaning no derailures. so when you need to pick a different sized cog, you need to be able to move the wheel back and forth in the dropout to maintain the proper chain tension.

I haven't seen or heard of them before, but they look like it would be a really nice and stiff frame (which is ofcourse what you want on the track). how much does it cost? is the geometry custom? if not, what is it? My current track bike is a little too close to my road geometry for my taste (My road and track bike are the same manufacturer, so it is an easy comparison). I like a really snappy handling frame....
