Hey everyone, I don't know if this is right forum for this, but I wanted to pass on a message I got about my buddy's mountain bikes being stolen. If you see them being ridden around in the Boston area, or posted on EBay or something, please contact the person listed below or the police listed below. Thanks.

"Attention bike community friends: This stuff was just
stolen from my
apartment in Melrose. 1-13-04.

Two mountain bikes

2001 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR XC comp. Full suspension.
color black, grey, and orange stripes. XT, XTR, LX mix. Fox Forx front shock, Fox float rear. All stock except rear wheel is a Mavic 517, the pedals are ATACs and the seat post is a black Thompson Elite. Maxxis stickers on frame.

1997 Schwinn Moab. Red and black, Front RockShox Indy fork. Big cushy seat.

Snowboard, Burton 57 Special, silver/grey on deck, green on base. Ride bindings. 157 cm.

Campagnolo front wheel, Scirrocco, black, 24 spoke, brand new.

In the rare chance that you see them being ridden or for sale, report it to the Melrose police and contact me: messenga12@yahoo.com

Thanks,
a sad mountain biker without insurance,
Jason M."

If we find the perp, can we flog him unmercifully, then call the cops? How about making him run naked through Boston singing, "My Favorite Things" from "The Sound of Music"? Nice and cold now, too.

Seriously, I'll keep an eye out here in RI. There's a major trail system just down the road from work. I see people coming out of the woods and racking the bikes all the time.
