This is Yuval Awazu, a guy I went to school with since childhood. He now runs Blackstone Bikes. Check out their site and mission. It's a worthy group, so if you have charity dollars going begging, give them a call.

I am a huge tt and tri bike fan. But I just don't get this one. That front end looks like they had to aftermarket it to death to make it useable.

I've got this demented friend who sends all kinds of crazy e-mails (who doesn't, right?). Anyway, he sent me some pictures of a bike that probably would test the limits of acceptability on this site, so I'll just offer a brief description. It's a modified mountain bike with an extra cahinring/bb assembly mounted about halfway up the seattube. An extra chain runs between one of the regular chainrings and the "extra" chainring. Mounted to one of the bolt holes on the upper ring is a steel rod attached to a... ummm ... rubber tool, that sticks up through the saddle. Motion of the pedals turns the upper chainring causing an up and down motion. Well, you get the picture. Strangest bike I've seen by far.
Sounds similar to the bike of painColnagoFE

Stationary bike with a leather flap that slaps you in the butt when you pedal it. Saw it in the bicycle curcus this summer at the Fat Tire festival.

Hidden deep inside there is a Rohloff internally geared drivetrain

everybody knows that the best designs figure in some way for pedaling to influence the rear suspension. otherwise you'll bob like the old schwinn/lawill designs. That's why the best bikes have some amount of pedal feedback, so that when you pedal it stiffens up the rear suspension and keeps it from "bobbing".

This is nothing but a concentric design, with the chain revolving around the pivot. The internal Rohlf hub will eliminate the chance of a dropped chain, but won't do anything for the pedal bob.

*Maybe* with a Stable Platform shock (5th element, etc) it might be salvageable, but still think it's completely overdone.

This was taken in Bologna, Italy last year in May. Of course, you've got to have the guy checking his text on the phone. Pronto.... This bike, in all seriousness, was awesome. The guy riding it, in love with himself but again, it's Italy. Great city to visit, Ducati's in town and Modena, home of Ferrari's in striking distance. Also know as the food capital of Italy. They're not wrong.

The front spot on the top picture looks a little tough on the nuts, even with the waist support.
