Robert Millar used to do the bike tests. Then he suddenly stopped, without explanation. Now we know.

I wish him well. I imagine that having to sort out something like that ain't fun or funny.

... while certainly more prevalent in modern western culture... there's still a huge stigma attached (one way or another) to one's sexuality... let alone gender reassignment! Add to that, an accomplished and long professional athletic career... and it's got to be... tough. Again, if true, I couldn't imagine...

His Palmares would remain the same... and indeed is insights on product reviews would probably still be as valid... but might be overshadowed by such a proceedure... I try to remain open minded... but admit that I'd probably have an adolecent snicker in the back of my mind as I read...

Still... regardless as to the true nature of the story, I wish him well in his future endeavours.

how Marcel Wust got the promotion to bike tester.

There is a (wo)man, who like Millar also had the operation and was a(large) cat4 rider on a well known New England team. Now, if it was an advantage, I surely would've complained. However, she was not going very fast, so it was more interesting than anything. As much as I'd like to post pics, I will refrain and be respectful.

As for UCI classifications, do they have much to do with Masters racing? I don't know their involvement, or how the masters circuit works in Europe. Anyone?

If he were to compete at the masters level, would he race as a male or female? Would the UCI allow him to race female?
