Campy compatible with Shimano?wily in pacifica

I am looking into getting a used bike that is equiped with Campy componants, however, it needs a new wheelset. It has a campy 8 speed rear cluster. I have a set of Shimano wheels at home and was wondering if I put a shimano 8 speed cluster on the shimano wheels will the campy shifters and rear der work smoothly?

Thanks, Willy
It may workbimini

From reading this board it looks like many people have success running Shimano 8 speed wheels on the Campy 8 Group. The spacing is a little different but not a lot different. Shifts may no be clean at either end.

I have not tried it myself. Branford sells a spacer kit that puts the Shimano spacing right on spot for the Campy 8 system.

It'll almost surely work. Flawlessly and perfectly? Probably not.

I've got a beater wheel with a 9 speed Shimmy cassette, I've used it on several all Campy rigs on the trainer. No problems.
Second that it works with 9sp. nmdzrider
