and who?

Neither is Merckx. Jacques Anquetil, fellow (5 time Tour winner) is on the left though.

Anquetil was the stylish one but rubbed folks the wrong way. Poulidor was always the darling of the fans but a hard luck loser as well who could never outdo Anquetil.

I saw him come 2nd to Merckx at the world champs in Montreal in '74.
