Questions about Mercier Cycles....?jimboriot

I just got a Mercier Corvus(aluminum), with Sh. 105 parts. The bike is new...but I'm having problems finding any online reviews of the company, save for 1970's era bikes. Any thought's?

Sorry, I'm new to the road biking thing, and I have a 400 mile tour coming up spring break. Any responses would be helpful.

Mercier /and Motobecane/ brand name was bought out by US investors a couple years back. Company doesn't own any factories, and I don't belive they do any R&D. They make their bikes under contract in Taiwan; basically slap own stickers on frame and specify build. Very likely they're good bikes, same category as Giant and low-midpriced Treks or Specialized.

I believe the steel Merciers were mfg in the same facility as Fuji, and a few other Far East brands. Not sure about Al, pers I'd prefer steel for touring, '03 Corvus was made out of Reynolds 520.
