Chippo not in 2004 TdFMPH74

I was really looking forward to seeing Chippo/Petacchi in a TdF duel! The news that Domina is not getting the Div. 1 status has derailed that plan... Any thoughts out there about Chippo somehow getting into the tour?? Is is possible this late for him to change teams? OR is it 100% that he won't be in the 2004 TdF!?

Chippos are potato chips in The Simpsons featuring a hippo on the bag.
It's 110% likely he won't...TJeanloz

The Tour doesn't like Cipo, Cipo doesn't like the Tour. He won't ride it, regardless of what Division status his team gets.

he wouldn't have finished anyways.

just watch the Giro for the show-down (or passing of the torch as the case may be).
You know, there are other races....-JC-

I was hoping to see him in the Giro this year. I hope he gets signed to a division I team. As Joe Elliot of Def Leppard said, "its better to burn out than fade away."

Domina Vacanze WILL get a Giro invite this year!russw19

Absolutely! No question about it... they will be in the Giro. Along with other DII teams like Mercatone Uno and Panaria... they will get in. Last year's Giro (if I remember correctly) had 4 or 5 DII teams in it.

That would be Neil Young who said that! At least he would be the first and the original.
Forget the sprinters, I'll miss the Kelme climbers. nmTFerguson

Kelme would be the best wild-card invite to the tour...Spunout

They have animated the race for many years, and should be (the sponsor) respected for that. Even though they do not have the big guns, Valverde and Casero would be classy additions to the tour.

IMHO, Kelme would add to the tour more than Domina Vacanze would.

Kelme has always been my favorite team. A bunch of skinny, wild, crazy men.
