|The African and his G/F want to go to Le Tour this year. Any suggestions about anything appreaciated, web sites to look at, where to go, best dates to fly, where to fly into, we want to do it on the cheaper side of things, I was thinking of flying to London, see some friends then get over to France. Would also like to see other things, maybe another country or two. Important to be on le Alpe for time trial.
I love to travel but have not been overseas for 8 years (stuck here waiting for green card, now I have it it is time to travel) - can't wait.
anyone need a litespeed to help pay for this?

|Shoot me an email. I have a nice Tour packet for '04 that will help some...just add @hotmail.com to my rbr handle. Litespeed for a green card eh? I wish I had better connections, I have a whole Chorus build kit that needs a home (laughs).|

|African: I went to the Tour in 2002 and 2003. Teo's guide is the best guide I have seen for people who want to see the Tour. It is worth its weight in gold.
Teo: You should copyright and sell your guide. I surely appreciate your sending the guide to me and I am sure that others that have received it would agree. But, I think that you have something that is worth paying for. The guide and your other works on the Tour are gems.

|He sent me that guide and I was very impressed at the level of detail included within. I surely appreciate it, Teo. I haven't yet decided whether I'll be "going it alone" and using your guide or signing up for one of the commercial Tour tours.
If you keep receiving such positive feedback, especially from cycling fans who have used your guide at the '04 TdF, I'd definitely consider copyrighting it and selling it for next year!

|Thanks guys. I appreciate the endorsement and I tryed to work a little magic with it this year. I looked at a few options like an e book type of thing. Another angle was to "sell it" as a one time sponsorship fee to a title sponsor and let them use it as a download from there website.
In particular a growing bike company new with vested interest in the Tour (not Trek) that I had in mind could have used it on their site and included their road bike catalog (which they already publish online pdf style) in the piece. In turn I'd use their bikes on my trip and even do a few Tour specific pieces for their site during the Tour. I haven't given up yet...
