|Axel Merckx is the only child I know of in the peleton. I'm also a big fan of hockey. The NHL is filled with children of ex-greats. I'm know some of todays NFL pros are the kids of ex-stars.
Are we going to see Luke Armstrong or little Jalaberts in the Tour De France in 20 years? Are there any current riders that come from a cycling family?

|The mountain bike champ Miguel Martinez raced in the '02 Tour for Mapei. His father is an ex pro. I think his father might have won the KOM jersey. The Plankard/k? family are all cyclist. Jo is currently racing. His uncle Eddie raced, and at least one other family member raced and are now managers or ds's for teams.|

|Frank VDB is not a child of a former star, but the nephew of former Belgian pro Jean-Luc VDB of Lotto managerial fame. Frank's dad was a mechanic for Lotto for a long time.
Nicolas Roche is an up-and-coming Irish rider and son of Stephen.
Cedric Vasseur's father raced professionally in the 50s(?).
The Planckaerts are a cycling family. I think the brothers were Walter, Eddy, and one other, and Jo is the son of Walter I believe.
Someone already mentioned Miguel Martinez, his father was a top climber in the 70s.
I believe George Hincapie's father was a successful amateur racer in Colombia before moving to the US.

|Jelle Njdam raced in the 80's and 90's for various Dutch teams. His father was Henk Njdam who was a successful pro in the 60's. Chris Boardman's dad was a good amateur time trial rider in the UK. I believe Ferdi Bracke's son is racing now as a pro.
In women's racing the great and late Beryl Burton raced against her daughter Denise in the 70's.

|...and what about Greg LeMond's kid? I remember LeMond holding his kid on the podium with him following the '89 TdF. If he was 3 or 4 then, he'd be 17 or 18 now right?|| |
