Anyone use Tufo tire sealant with Vitoria tubulars? I got some of the tufo stuff for xmas and was wondering if there'd be any issues or problems using it. BTW i love tubulars, so no tubi bashing. Thanks in advance.

I'll throw the disclaimer in the beginning. The following is only rumor obtained over time by others on this site.

-Tufo sealant only works with Tufo tires. Apparently, Tufo tires have an odd construction so they can't be repaired like other tubulars. Tube is bonded to the casing or something. This is why Tufo pushes the sealant.

-Tufo sealant doesn't work with Latex tubes. I think this rumor has to do with sealants in general. Some vittoria Tubies use latex tubes so this may be a concern for you.

I've dug around trying to get answers but have come up empty. Tufo says nothing about it. I'd love to hear someone come back with "solid" answers.

FWIW: I used the Tufo sealant with Tufo tires and had issues with the sealant gunking up my valve cores. On occasion, I had to remove the cores and clean them.

thanks, I may just try it and see what happens. Im not too worried about the valve cores - i used slime in my MTB tubes, just wondering if there'd be a reaction with the latex and the sealant.

The problem is, the only Vittorias that have removeable cores are the Corsas, and they have latex tubes. It might not work. I have had good experiences with Tufo sealant in a butyl tube (conti sprinter), but my experiences with all other sealants is awful.

FWIW, Corsas are the only Vitt tubies worth considering.
