Where are the good bike shops.
Where or when are the group rides.
What are some good 30-50-mile routes.
Where did the sun go?

Coal Country USA... weeee, that's going to be one HUGE change for you(assuming you've never been there before).

I've never been to Tuscon but I've been to Scranton. Too bad for you =) My parents are originally from Hazelton and I thank them every day for moving a way. Actually, things aren't so grim. While I don't know any specific routes, I know that there are a lot of really nice country roads and some decent climbs. Check the phone book for bike shops and possibly they could hook you up with a bike club or some routes. Hey, this means you'll be fairly close for any RBR PA rides! =) There is some good mtb riding in Jim Thorpe, too, which is close, if you like to do that.

Depending one what you want there a couple of good shops. For the most part my money goes to Bargain Basement just south of Sixth Ave on Freemont (South of the U of A). It is a small shop with lots of really cool frames and stuff. The "new" supergo and performance shops are still decent, they are both former true local shops and still have most of their old staff.

What side of town are you living at? That will dictate what a good 30 to 50 mile ride route will be.

And don't worry about where the sun went, you'll be cursing it by mid April.

And take lots of water.

Just to clarify, I'm moving OUT of Tucson and into Scranton. Fair Wheels was the best shop I found. The owner rides and organizes the group rides and sponsors the UA team. Supergo and Performance have a great selection, but they have a Walmart feel to them.

Thier are several bike shops in the Wilkesbarre/Scranton area, B & B has a good rep. Check with the local club in Scranton, one of their member should turn you on to some good rides in that area. If you like to MTB, check the trail review section for PA, lots of great rides within 50 miles. The sun does come back along with the high humidity.
