|Loose Water Bottle Boss - What do you recommend?||Chainstay|

|One of the water bottle bosses on my Merlin Extralight has loosened up a bit and rattles. I don't know how they are fastened or how to tighten them or whether I loosened it by overtightening the mounting bolt.
What should I do?

|These things are essentially hollow threaded rivets. A good shop will have the tool to crimp it tight again. Not likely that you loosened it while tightening the bottle cage bolt.|

|You can use a hex bolt with a nut threaded onto it to secure the water bottle boss again. Screw the bolt and nut assembly into the frame until all threads of the boss are engaged, hold bolt stationary with a hex key, carefully fasten nut against frame with a key wrench. This procedure will compress the water bottle boss against itself.|

|Throw some loc-tite in there while you're at it. Go for the blue (medium Strength) so you can at least remove it later rather than red which be " in there forever".|
