Compact frame sizing-small or medium??RemmingtonShowdown

Hello all,
My question relates to the sizing of Giant's TCR frames. I am roughly 5'11" with an inseam of 33" According to Giant's sizing guide my height would dictate that I ride a medium frame, yet my inseam would say small. I checked with the guys at my LBS and they said I could go either way and it would just be a matter of personal prefference. To me that sounds sketchy. I've ridden both and can't really tell the difference.

I'm hoping that someone has fallen into the Giant grey zone of sizing and can provide me with a little direction. Do I go with the small, or the medium?!?!

Thank you.

While its sounds glib, your LBS guys are probably right. I'm 5'10" with a 31" inseam. I thought the medium was too big until I tried the small. I looked at my position via digital camera at the shop and it looked all wrong. I stayed with the medium, used my traditionally small stem (9cm) and pushed the seat forward to my KOPS position. My problem was the long (for me) top tube measurement. A lot of buyers are having our problem with Giant's recommended sizing. I relied on my instinct, traditional sizing, and my LBS owner. The notion of a 5'11" rider on a small just doesn't sound right and in my case wasn't. Good luck

I'm 5'6" with a 30" inseam and I ride a small with a 10cm stem. Given your dimensions, and unless you have really short arms or torso, I would say you should ride a medium.

I'm 6' tall w/ ~ a 34.7" (88.2cm) inseam & ride a large Giant. Since my measurements are a little more than yours, I'd guess the medium would give you a better fit than the small.
