|if he's in front and getting further, the I'd think something like "Wow, strong and paranoid, but more power to 'em"
If he's behind and dropping back it'd be something like "Glad I'm not wearing that"
If we're riding side by side, it'd be something like; "Paranoid b'stard, I must be old and slow"

|That is the only way you would get me to race with you speed maniacs. I wouldn't trust the half of you with your bike skills, so that would be my only option to wear one of those in a crit.|

|On two occasions I raced with guys in pads. One guy was wearing huge skater's elbow pads. When I commented about it to a stranger I was told he has a habit of kissing the pavement. Oh joy, a padded pavement surfer with a reputation.
Another was wearing a set of pants with huge pads built in. They were huge square block-like pads on his hips and outer thigh.
Lets just say I stayed VERY far away.
