For Christmas got a heart rate monitor.
A Sigma Sport PC 800.
I've got a heart rate reading on my children.
I can't get a reading on myself.
Without a shirt I look like the missing link.
What can I use besides ECG conductive gel or spit?
Shaving is not an option.
Astro gluide or KY jelly. nmthe bull

I have a hard time getting a good signal when it's cold and i don't sweat. i've found that KY works great. unless someone knows a reason why not, i'm sure vaseline would work too. just make sure you clean it off after. it won't dry like sweat or spit, and the transmitter battery will wear out more quickly.

Like I said, my wife Gayle likes the KY jelly too. It beats the dry method, and she gets a better signal.
what's wrong with spit? (nm)Rich_Racer

just put some warm water on your chest where the strap is going to go, put it on and you're set.

Works wonders on ignition rotors. Get some at your local auto parts store.
