Any better ones I should look into? |

old classic - still one of the best |
| re: Best cycling DVD gifts ? | Qubeley Dec 30, 2003 6:19 PM | | do not forget to get "tete en course/greatest show on earth" double feature, better than Hell IMHO.
Also, "the history of tour of flanders" double video is awesome. |

Greatest Show on Earth is pretty cool too save for the incredibly eccentric soundtrack. There's a fantastic scene of Manuel Fuentes descending in the fog that is priceless if you are a cycling romantic like me. Again the soundtrack - guitar with some guy sighing/humming along off key - is a little distracting. Maybe a lot distracting. Oh well it was the 70's afterall. :)
Both capture the professional racing life back in the day. Nostalgic, stunning at times, quirky, funny, poetic. All apply. Stars and Watercarriers has a couple three great moments but really is more of the same. Merckx was incredible in it tho. Nothing like it. |

No offense, but being a huge fan of Breaking Away I can't tell you how much I hated everthing about American Flyers. I watch it every couple of years hoping it'll get better or I will change my mind...hasn't worked yet. Dumb story and cheesy cycling scenes...downright embarrassing.
