It's on sale at Getaway. Is this a good deal? How is Sora? I'm not familier with Shimanos. Although it'll be a trainer bike the lowest group I've ever used is Centaur on my cross bike.

I was putting together a trainer bike with chorus and a cheapo frame but now I need to reshuffle my components around so I can put 03 Record on a new C50 I'll be getting.

It's gonna be heavy, straight-gauge aluminum and Shimano's lowest group, but should hold up well and be as good as the Trek 1000 for 600 bucks at your LBS.

My wife's bike has Sora and it shifts fine, although a high mileage racer probably can tell the difference. The only drawback is it's 8 speed and everyhting else is 9 speed.

Just make sure it fits and don't expect more than just a basic, solid bike.
