|My trapezius muscles are always sore & tight after any ride longer than 2 hours. Any tips? Ways to stretch them, exercises to strengthen them? I think my position on the bike is pretty good, but I'm open to suggestions.|

|I often get the same tightness and soreness on longer rides. All I can say is to do what I try to do:
Stretch before, during and after riding. When I stop for a drink, I'll do a little stretching.
During the off season, use the opportunity to stretch the affected muscles everyday.
In the weight room, do specific exercises to strengthen these core muscles.

|A favorite of mine is the extended push-up which is done with your hands beyond your head rather than under your shoulders. When you first try this one start from the top and let yourself down. It's really tough to start with your body on the floor. YOu'll notice at the top the angle made by your arms and body are pretty similar to the angle they make in your riding position.|| |
