Gregg, are you still changing site format?...rwbadley

a while back I saw something to that effect.

I would urge you to reconsider. The format of other sites using the single topic line w/o visible thread is not nearly as attractive nor user friendly imho.

Any type of forum has it's pros and cons but I do prefer this style versus the new style.

Hate to sound stodgy and old fashioned, but I certainly prefer your present format to what I have seen at other sites. I like to see the whole string. Sometimes who answers determines whether I read any of it. Please consider carefully. Thanks.
Agreed -- it ain't broke, so (please) don't "fix" it... (nm)The Walrus

I like the new one. I prefer the added functionality of the newer softwares.

The site has changed software twice, I think. It worked out ok each time. Don't sweat it.

There may be administration level functionality that will be improved that you never even know about.

Also, I have found that when these things are announced, they are a fait accompli -- done deal.

I hear ya', but....gregg

It really won't be all that bad. There is a link up top with more details and my original post about this. Link is:

In short, yes, we are switching starting in January ('round the middle of the month). The new forum DOES have a threaded view, but it is within the thread, not from the main board. This is the biggest difference (along with not being able to sort by latest thread).

These are major differences, yes. And I agree 100% with you guys, the threaded view is better, and flows like an actual conversation. However, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages, thus the change.

Thanks for your input/support.
