Has anyone tried it?

It would be interesting to see!

Woof.
Just like my solo bunny hop, only with TWO people on the groundretro

We actually did try it once, on a rented one-speed tandem. Couldn't get it off the ground and eventually fell over. In other words, exactly like my solo hop.
I would like to see it, though....

a couple friends of mine ride and race mtb tandem (usually win the class by default as there's virtually no competition). I caught up with them on training ride. THey were going in opposite direction, downhill and aired it about 6-8" over the rut. It wasn't the real bunny hop, where you first lift front and then suck rear in, more like 2 wheel jump. I doubt you'd be able to pull something on road tandem w/o suspension fork.
Track stand and U-Turn also.MrCelloBoy

I'm getting better at trackstanding with my partner on our Calfee Tetra Tetra. Takes serious trust.
Legend has it that Scot Nicol AKA Chuck ibis, could do a reverse, 3-point U-turn on a tandem with stoker.

1.) He's facing uphill, stops and backs up and to one side.

2.) Stops and goes forward back downhill!
