I just found it that I've earned a trip to Maui for my wife and I. So, in March I might get a tan??.

I'm not bringing my bike, but I want to ride. I read info on this board about several Maui cycling companies like http://www.gocyclingmaui.com/index.html Anybody have any experience with these folks?? or anyone else on the island?? I don't want to do one of those tourist trips driving up a mountain then on the brakes all the way down.

Thanks. Paul

PS This is going to be one heck of a Christmas present for my wife. Not my riding..but the trip.

Paul,
You'll have a great time if you go with Donnie and his company GO Cycling Maui, hands down the best outfit around. I work at a LBS here on the island, and have been riding the roads here for over 20 years. No one does it better than GCM ! After all, when the biggest name in cycling comes to town who do you think he rides with ? Yep...Go Cycling Maui. The sea level to the top of 10,000 ft. Mt. Haleakala is a great climb by the way, just my 2 cents.

It looks like the best option. Even my wife is OK with my riding while in Maui.

Thanks. Paul

Maui EH!, Some guys have all the luck in the world.

Me, I'll have to pay to drag my bike to Margarita island and ride around fairly flat roads and a heavy head wind in the middle of Februauy. But hell I'll look at it this way at least I wont be riding in the snow up here.

P.S. I have two weeks off at the end of June

I earned the trip through work. I surpassed my annual goals and was in the firms' top 10% therefore...Maui bound baby!!!

Two weeks off in June...hmmm....am I sensing a Blue Ridge Mountain trip?? Colorado??? Italy again???

Where is Margarita island?? Never heard of it. I've had a few too many Margaritas on occasion, even dated Margarita once, but never heard of the island.

Maragita Island Is just off the northern coast of Venezuela. It's a small duty free island that has been visited by many a Canadian. I personally have been ten times. This will be the first time for the bike.

The island is well known for it's wind surfing, hence the killer head winds on the bike. It sure makes up for the lack of hills.
If you're going to Margarita you should try Windsuring.PseuZQ

Haven't been personally, but heard it's quite good there.
