Has anyone seen the WCP Crash DVD? What do you think of it?

It's alright. 90 minutes. Good for 1-2 trainer sessions. I wouldn't buy it outright, subscribe to cycle sport and get it for cost of shipping.

I saw that ad and wondered why they think anyone would want to watch bike crashes. Will I be motivated to ride when I see Jalabert's blood-drenched face? Seems that the Fox network is running WCP now. Seen the show "You Gotta See This?"? Nonstop footage of sporting accidents. Sick.

The people at WCP probably figure that cyclists, like other sports fans, like to see bloody, firey disasters. Most sports fans do not have the possibility of driving a NASCAR, thus they don't know what it's like to go up in flames. What they failed to recognize is that most cyclists have been involved in some sort of crash and we know what if feels like, hence we don't want to be remind of the risks we take or bring back memories. Heck, if I could remove every single scare I have on my butt and elbows I would.

it's a throwaway, really, but what really disturbs me is that they use a substantial section of footage from Le Course en Tete without any acknowledgemet - the whole section about Merckx - I think that section is from that documentary, and there is no credit given to the source material. It's either that movie or the other one directed by Jorgen Leth (Sunday in Hell?)...

At any rate, I think that is a very rude thing for the folks at WCP to have done.
