Which of these wheels are more aero?spookyload

I am rewarding myself with a new set of wheels for next year. I have finally met my weight goal. Over the last five years I have dropped the 35# I put on after marrige. I went from 215 to 180. No more up and down weight is off for good. On to my question.

I ride centuries about eight times a year. They range from flat(Tucson), to rolling(Santa Fe), to outright uphill(Taos). I usually end up riding half the day by myself, so I am looking for the most aero wheel to do it with. Though weight isn't a huge concern, I don't want something like aerospokes that weigh more than me! Here is the short list of wheels I am considering. Nimble Crosswinds, Zipp 404, Zipp 303, American Classic Deep Aero(forget the model). Of those, which are the most aero. I am getting tubies since they will be century only wheels. I have looked for any data on the net, but have found nothing. i have ruled out the Reynolds wheel. Cost is too high. I can get a sweet discount on the nimbles, which is why they are on the list.
Did you check John Cobb's site?Dwayne Barry

I think it's called (?), maybe try analyticcycling. The 404's are definitely more aero than the 303's. I think the old specialized tri-spokes were about the most aero thing out there so maybe the Nimbles are more aero than the 404s. Doesn't American Classic use the Zipp rims?

slowtwitch isn't John Cobb's site, but still a good reference for aero stuff.
John Cobb's site is:

If you head over to and search the archives, Craig Willett (sp?) did an article on aero wheels.

The aerospokes are probably the worst of the bunch. The Specialized/Hed Trispokes are some of the most aero. The 404s are a little less aero than the trispokes, the 303s a little less than them.

American Classic uses Zipp rims in their carbon wheels.

"All-round" use? I'd get some 404s. All-out speed? Trispokes.

You can find some first gen Cosmics for not a bunch of money that are some of the most aero wheels ever built. I have a pair. They're nice at speed.

That help?

I am riding Mavic Ksyrium SL's now`spookyload

I know they aren't very aero at all, so the 404's should be lots better.
