By the way, look at that bike -- hand made lugged steel single speed...the Brothers knew cool!
I work very close to the Smithsonian Air and Space museum where the Wright Brother's 1903 Flyer is now hanging. I'm gonna walk over at lunch to pay my respects.

|Bicycle design hasn't really changed much in 100 years. Compare bike technology to automobiles or airplanes.
I guess bike designers got it right the first time:-)

|...by taking a riser-style MTB bar or, better yet, a bar from a "cruiser"-style bike, and flipping it over so that it drops down.|

|Today is the 100th aniversary of the Wright's first flight at Kitty Hawk.
So really over 100 years of airplane technology we went from a box kite powered by a very weak engine that flew for 12 seconds to space probes taking pictures of Pluto and Charon. Pretty damn amazing if you ask me.
Wonderfully astonishing times we are living in.

|54 degrees, light rain. Wind from SSW at 8mph.
4 groups that were doing recreation flights have already done so. Most of them on saturday. It was on CNN last night.

|WB's as weight weenies....||bent_spoke|

|I saw a show on public TV where they were trying to duplicate the WB's flight. Initially, the WB's wanted an engine that weighed less than 200lbs & provided at least 8hp. Since they couldn't find one, they had it built and got a 179lb engine with 12 hp. Like the orignial, the replica did not include an oil pump or radiator just to save weight.
Great upgrade though!!...weight savings and greater power output [no interval training required!]. Awesome dudes!!!
