|2004 Trek 5900 Weights......||berni|

|I have been reading the posts on the 5900/5200/Madone with interest, and I just received my 54cm 2004 5900 frame so I thought you might like to know what it weighs.
It was 1100g, including the cable guide under the BB, the shifter trimmer stubs (but not the trimmers themselves), and no bottle bolts, (14g, I took them off).
I was a touch disappointed as I had heard it was 1000g. Trek advise that the 1000g weight is WITHOUT paint!!
The fork meets it's promise though at 338g cut down a little.
By comparison, my old 2002 Trek 5200 fork was 485g. The frame I have not weighed yet as bike is still built up, but I can accurately estimate it at 1350g. Not particularly light.
The 5900 is not yet built up so I cannot comment on how it rides yet, but if anyone's interested I will.
The Madone was a non starter for me, as I mostly hillclimb, and the aero advantages are not needed.
By the way, the DA 2004 chainset is simplicity itself to install.
